Over the last few years Hazel has been making her name as a composer and arranger, particularly for film, theatre and dance. Writing for narrative is where Hazel's love of words and music unite and she is at home working with a director and working with the vision of a creative team. Hazel''s music is often inspired by folk traditions, but she has written music in a variety of styles, ranging from orchestral scores to pop and contemporary music. Hazel aims to make all the music she creates tell a story or evoke an emotional response, whether it is the arrangement of an instrumental tune, the accompaniment to an old ballad or the soundtrack for a film.

"Hazel is a fantastic composer and a pleasure to work with. She has an innate understanding of story, theme and character, which allows her to engage with a film far beyond the technical language of orchestration and score. She is always fully in tune with a director's vision and her music always perfectly complements and enhances the film's narrative and emotional beats, whilst her talent with melody means the score also holds its own without the visuals. I hope to work with her again soon!" Ella Jones, Director of 'Tales'

"Hazel is a wonderful composer to work with both personally and professionally. She carefully engages with a film's story, always ensuring her music enhances and complements the narrative. She is able to work with references for moods and instrumentation but ultimately always creates something that is unique, intelligent and great to listen to!" Rob Thorman - Writer of 'International Men's Day'
